Organizations

Regional integration has long been underway in Asia. Whether with the purpose of forming a political and economic union, or as security cooperation initiatives, regional organizations such as ASEAN, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have played an important role in diminishing economic barriers and building political bridges between Asian nations.

Organizations Center - Asian Atlas

An Asian Atlas hub for the study of multilateral political, economic, and security institutionalization in the region, the Organizations Center provides research on the functionality, implications, expansion, and impact of the main intergovernmental associations over the region. The Center's main track is composed of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The Center conducts regular brief analysis and comprehensive research upon request over a secondary track focused on the activity of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization of Turkic States (the Turkic Council), and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU/EEU). The Center provides consulting services upon request.
